Writers
Writer archives, the writers masthead page and multi-author bylines.
Writer archives
A writer’s archive at /author/{slug}/ follows Feed layout:
- List puts a centred profile above compact rows.
- Grid moves the profile into a rail beside a grid of cards. On a phone, where the page stacks, the rail stops being sticky.
The writers masthead
The masthead is a page you create. Name it authors (URL /authors/), or use any URL and pick Authors under Template in the page settings menu.
It lists every writer who has published, most prolific first, and follows Directory layout.
What each row shows
Each row prints the writer’s photo, post count, location, bio, latest piece, site and social handle. All of them are optional. A writer with none still gets a row with their name, their count and a monogram in place of the photo.
Set these under Settings → Staff, on each writer’s profile:
- The site link prints as its domain and the handle prints with
@. Both link to the real destination. - Ghost’s bio field holds 250 characters. Ghost refuses longer text when you save; the theme doesn’t truncate it.
Several writers on one post
A post with more than one writer credits all of them wherever a byline appears. The face beside the byline is the first writer’s.
